Australia records 5.1% unemployment rate

Australia has returned to pre-pandemic figures with its unemployment rate dropping to 5.1%, the same level recorded in February 2020.

The female unemployment rate sits at a record-low of 4.7%, a 0.5% decrease from April 2021. The male unemployment rate also decreased to 5.4%, a 0.4% drop from April 2021.

13, 125, 100 is the number of Australians now in employment, with 115, 100 Australians finding employment in May 2021. In that figure, full time employment increased by 97,500 and part-time employment increased by 17,700.
